I was watching America's got talent tonight and the last performance was by a Unemployed Farmer - chicken farmer I think he said. Had his guitar and once he started singing - the good old country boys heart came alive. Was a great performance and I look forward to hearing him again.
These types of shows bring together so many diverse types of personalities. The Unemployed Farmer was a performance that leaves you with a good feeling that takes you by surprise. I love that and I love the South - If you've lived there you know what I'm talking about. Visiting is nice but it's not the same as living there and of course being married to a southern boy keeps the south alive in our home where ever we are.

Sunshine!
It looks like our nice weather has finally arrived. It feels good too - I enjoy the warm weather, especially when it's followed by a nice breeze. Feeling the fresh air pouring in through the windows is nice. Temperatures are to be in the 80's all week long. Woo Hoo! Looks like the swimming pool will be our destination.

Jackson and Farrah
What a day.. Jackson and Farrah - I grew up with both and liked them regardless of what everybody else thought. Farrah was simply sweet with her heart always shinning through beyond her outer beauty, that was what I liked most. I remember having the Farrah hairdo head toy - I would french braid, cut and curl her hair all the time. I finally had to retire her as the hair slowly got shorter and shorter. She was an angel now living with angels.
Now Jackson despite his odd character was a musical genious. My Nana use to give me bottles of change when I was a kid - I think I was in 7th grade and I saved that change and bought the Billie Jean 45 - I was so excited when I took it to middle school for the girls locker room to share. I never got sick of that song. Later I got the Thriller cassette for my birthday and I was beaming. I always like his music even when everybody thought it wasn't COOL to listen to him. I kept on - I liked so many different songs, they seemed to be reaching out to tell a story. Some how I was able to relate to the lyrics. This clip I posted is one of my favorite performances - I remember watching it and thinking to heal the world you have to start with healing your heart first. There is much sadness in the world we live and sometimes I feel it's because were searching for peace in all the wrong places. The only way to peace and the problems we all face is through Christ. He is peace, love, hope, forgiveness and the best friend you could ever have. I've found that when I accepted him as my savior - he opened the door to an amazing life, not an easy life but one with purpose and salvation. This earthly life is a test and sometimes we pass with flying colors and others times we fail miserably. It's a blessing to know that Christ is there waiting for all - he can heal your heart and the world better than any man ever could.. I know because he heals mine all the time..
The shock of Jackson's life reminds me of when Elvis died... My Mom was a huge Elvis fan and I always wondered if somebody would come along in life and be as grand. Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll - Jackson was the King of Pop.. Farrah was a sweet angel.
Today people are mourning. Sometimes we forget that when somebody famous dies they were just people like you and me. They leave behind a grieving spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, children and friends. Keep them all in your prayers, loosing someone regardless of how it happens leaves an empty space in the heart..
I pray that the media can focus on the positive of Jackson's Life for the sake of those left behind. As for me I'll keep listening to his music because I don't care about people opinions. I grew up with Michael's music- it's fun, meaningful, and makes me smile...

Altitude and Exercise
The birds woke me up this morning at 4am. Couldn't get back to sleep so I decided the best thing I could do was go exercise. Off to the exercise room I went. It felt good - did 20 minutes on the treadmill. The altitude has really been kicking my butt lately and I thought exercise would help with this. Just a few more years and hopefully we'll be moving on from Colorado. My body just cannot seem to adapt to the altitude. I don't know why either. I drink plenty of water, if I drink anymore I'll probably explode. If I can keep up with the exercise I should see an improvment.

A Walk with God - By Dr. Robert Otto
I found out about this book on facebook. Years back I was a floral designer for Wights Nursery in Lynnwood, Washington. During that time I worked with Dr. Otto's youngest daughter, Robyn. We had alot of fun back then. Her dad would come in once and awhile to the back room and bring us treats and a little sunshine. One of the nicest men I've ever met. If I remember correctly one of the Gals called him "Papa Smurf." I always thought Robyn was lucky to have such a loving father. I had no idea his life was filled with such and story and that he was a POW in WW2. I do remember his glow, always carried peace in his eyes and now I know why. I recommend this book - His story is amazing and what a wonderful gift he has left his family. I was touched and impressed with his faith in God- it's wonderful to see when we let God in our lives how he takes us over. Gives us the strength to do all things and be a blessing to others. Father's Day
We took Robert to Garden of the Gods today in Colorado Springs. It was a great afternoon and the scenery was amazing. Would have had more pictures to share accept after these were taken I dropped the camera and the lens is now jammed. Couldn't believe it. Robert is gonna see if he can fix it tomorrow, otherwise I'll be on the hunt for a new camera this week.
We ended our day at the Elephant Bar - one of our favorite restaurants - Felecia and I always split the Shrimp platter and Robert and Blake indulge on Steak. Now it's time to kick back and enjoy a quiet evening.
Robert was full of smiles today, he had a great day and it was good for me to see that.

The Proposal
This movie is hilarious, Robert wasn't that crazy about going since it was a chick flick. Then when the females started showing up he wanted to die. Nothing worse than filling a theater room full of mostly woman with bad perfume. However once the movie started and the theater quieted down he and I were non-stop cracking up. One laugh after the other. Betty White is a kick, spunky little thing. There wasn't anything orginal about this movie just fun. Once again I found myself watching Robert on the big screen. Yep my life is one big comic strip - humor all the time, that's a good thing. If you need a good laugh it's a must see.

Scrapbooking
Another lot of photos has come my way - now it's time to update the photo books. I started scrap booking a few years back when I was living in Texas. A good friend of mine was into scrapbooking and I thought, "I should do that." It's alot of fun but when you get behind it becomes more of a chore. I'm what you would call a frugal scrapbooker. Meaning I reuse old cards incoporated with new paper and do dads to create with. Everybody said when I got into this hobby it would be expensive. I responded with, "depends on how you do it." Anyways I guess I'll be updating photo books for the next few days. This is a good thing since the weather is still rather weird around here and my mood for writing has come to a short block. Spark in a little creative juices and the writing block will clear right up - always does.

Zoe Sky Ranch and Rescue
Yesterday after Felecia's riding lesson I needed to stop by Walmart real quick. Outside was a nice man collecting donations for "Zoe Sky Ranch and Rescue" We talked a little and took a brochure. I just finished checking out their website and what an amazing group of people.
There are doing some great things. Check it out: http://www.zoeskyranch.org/

Beading
A few years back I purchased some fused glass necklaces. They came on a leather strap which for me just wasn't that interesting. I was going to put them on a gold chain and then I thought beads might be a better option. They turned out better than I expected - now I have something new to jazz up an outfit.
Got this one back in gee I think 2003 or something? When hardly anybody was doing fused glass.

Now What?
We had a great visit with my Mom and Kenny and a surprise visit from Leonard and Elaine. Now that company has traveled on it's time to get back on track. Lots to do - most important I need to get my exercise routine back on track. I think the hardest part of exercising is starting. Once the routine is in place it's no big deal.
We're doing school through July and taking off August. Looking forward to that August break. I was able to get the kids curriculum decided on through their graduation. Can't believe how time moves so quickly. Felecia is planning on graduating at 16 so she can move on with her career path and Blake isn't sure if he wants to push that hard. If he keeps at his pace right now he'll graduate at 17. One never knows with him - when he sets his mind to something anything is possible. They're both doing amazing and Robert and I are very proud of them.
Summer plans we'll be hanging out at the pool, Garden of the Gods, Renisance festival, 4H County fair, water park, Karate and Horse back riding are non-stop and anything else that grabs our attention. Robert was thinking about taking off somewhere in July - we shall see. Then in August the kids and I head up to Washington to get my things out of my Dads house. Course we'll visit my Mom first in Winthrop.
When we get back we have 3 weeks of kick back and relax before we start another school year. Life just keeps moving on ..
Between all of that - Robert and I are writing a book and we hope to have it finished and ready for publication by then end of September. Never a dull moment.

"UP"
We went and saw "UP" today - what a touching movie - Can't believe it's Pixar's 10th movie. We all enjoyed it - kind of a action adventure with a heart. One of the things I enjoy about the Pixar movies is the message. This one was great; right up there with "Finding Nemo." We chose not to see it in 3D - just wasn't in the mood for things flying at us.
